The daredevil New Jersey teen, once busted for scaling 1 World Trade Center, dodged jail Wednesday for climbing two Manhattan skyscrapers.
Justin Casquejo, 19, of Weehawken, NJ, who has been arrested four times in three years for the death-defying ascents, copped a no-jail plea deal in Manhattan court.
The adrenaline junkie pleaded guilty to second-degree trespass in exchange for three years probation for scaling a 52-story luxury apartment building in Murray Hill June 1.
Casquejo told the Post he was relieved. “I’m absolutely happy I’m not in prison,” he said, wearing a gray button-down shirt and khaki pants. “It was a scary experience being in jail for a day and a half. I didn’t know whether or not I would get out so it was a bit terrifying.”
He also pleaded guilty to BASE jumping for dangling from the roof of 70 Pine St., a 67-story building, in February 2016. He and his pals were captured on video hanging from the roof’s parapet and spire. He was granted youthful offend status, and the case will eventually be sealed.
Casquejo must abide by a trespass notice, which bars him from entering either property.
The urban adventurer said his illegal hobby “wasn’t about the climbing but about the art.”
In 2014, Casquejo got a slap on the wrist for sneaking through a hole in a fence at Ground Zero and climbing up the scaffolding of then-unopened 1 WTC.
His defense lawyer, Jeremy Saland, said the plea deal will allow his client to move on with his life.
