The 12-year-old daughter of a diplomat may avoid charges after allegedly stabbing her classmate multiple times with scissors.
The girl was detained but not arrested Tuesday after she stabbed a 13-year-old boy twice at a Washington, DC, private school, news station WJLA reported. Her dad is another country’s diplomat, but no other information about her identity has been released.
Officers arrived at the British International School of Washington to find the victim with stab wounds.
He was rushed to the hospital and expected to survive.
The suspect may have diplomatic immunity, but officers are working with the D.C. Attorney General’s Office and the US State Department on possible charges. Her home country would have to waive any immunity for her to be charged.
