It could just go from “Mike & Mike in the Morning” to “Mike & Michelle in the Morning.”
ESPN is still looking for someone to pair with Mike Greenberg for his new show that launches Jan. 1. That someone could be Michelle Beadle, the Sporting News reported.
Greenberg was part of “Mike & Mike” with Mike Golic for 18 years on ESPN radio and television, but after a contentious split Golic is moving to a new show with Trey Wingo and Greenberg is setting out on his own. Sort of.
The new show is expected to include a female co-host, a rotating cast of analysts and guest celebrities, according to the Sporting News. ESPN was reportedly interested in luring Charissa Thompson from Fox, but that is not expected to happen.
Beadle, who is highly regarded at ESPN, has also worked at NBC. She has been the host of “SportsNation” and “NBA Countdown” for ABC and ESPN. Beadle would have to re-locate from the West Coast to New York, where Greenberg’s show will be shot.
Greenberg’s new show will run from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on ESPN.
“There are still a lot of ways this might go,” a source told the Sporting News.
