A New York-bound flight from Las Vegas turned around shortly after takeoff early Wednesday and made an emergency landing because one of its engines caught fire, officials said.
Delta Airlines Flight 1057 departed a little after midnight, headed for Kennedy, but did a 180 and made an emergency landing back in Vegas at 12:32 a.m., officials said.

“The safety of Delta’s customers and crew is always our top priority and we apologize for the inconvenience,” according to a Delta statement.
