Trump tries to reassure ‘Dreamers’

President Trump took to Twitter on Thursday to assure people left in limbo after he ordered the end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program that they “have nothing to worry about.”

”For all of those (DACA) that are concerned about your status during the 6 month period, you have nothing to worry about – No action!,” Trump tweeted.

The president on Tuesday began the phasing out of the Obama-era program that protects young undocumented workers who were brought to the United States illegally by their parents from deportation.

He also gave Congress six months to come up with a solution.

Hours after the controversial announcement that his administration would end the program, Trump seemed to back off a little and offered to “revisit the issue” if Congress fails to act.

”Congress now has 6 months to legalize DACA (something the Obama Administration was unable to do). If they can’t, I will revisit this issue!,” he wrote on Twitter Tuesday evening.
