If women can learn anything from Vogue, it’s that we’re supposed to be louder, stronger and more present than ever this year, fighting back against male oppression.
Just so long as we’re as tiny as possible.
The rah-rah-women’s mag breathlessly announced the arrival of the latest Spanx product, Arm Tights, this morning, marveling over the way the new compression shirt “sucked in” arm skin.
The stretchy crop top — available on Monday, from $30 to $34, according to Vogue — smooths bulges from ribs to wrists for slim, publicly acceptable arms.
Staffers at the fashion magazine are losing their Spanx-clad minds.
“Vogue coworkers kept asking me where my shirt was from,” reports writer Brooke Bobb, who test-drove the arm binders during New York Fashion Week. “Others at the office grabbed my bicep and remarked about how small my arms looked. So far, so good!”
