KB Home CEO gets bonus slashed after Kathy Griffin rant
The CEO of homebuilding company KB Home will have his end-of-the-year bonus slashed as a result of his profanity-laced tirade against comedian Kathy Griffin and her boyfriend.
The board of KB Home also threatened to fire chief executive Jeffrey Mezger “if in the future there is any similar incident,” it said in a statement, according to CNBC.
In a regulatory filing, the board called Mezger a “great leader” but said it was cutting his bonus by 25 percent.
Mezger’s stunning rant against his neighbor Randy Bick — who’s dating Griffin — was captured on security camera audio.
“Hey Randy, go f–k yourself,” Mezger seethed in the tape obtained by the Huffington Post.
“You’re stuck with a f–king bald d–e who Donald Trump kind of put the heat on,” he said, referring to Griffin’s controversial decapitation photo shoot.
“F–k you and f–k Kathy. You’re not our f–king neighbor, you’re a f–king a–hole.”
Mezger’s tirade was over Griffin or Bick calling the police over a family get-together at Mezger’s home.
The amount of the CEO’s bonus is unclear, but he was paid $9 million last year in salary and stock awards. His last bonus of $125,000 came in 2014.
