The cousin of Mexican telenovela star Fernanda Castillo was among those killed during the devastating earthquake that rocked Mexico City, a report said.
Castillo posted a desperate plea to her Instagram followers shortly after the 7.1-magnitude quake, posting her cousin’s address and asking her followers to send any information they had on Florencia Lombardi Castillo and her husband, Martín Vélez, because she couldn’t reach them, Espectaculos reported.
“Please, I ask you for any information you have,” the post read on the actress’s Instagram account.
“They were in Edinburgh building # 4 and we can not reach them.”
Hours later, Castillo’s brother Pablo confirmed the couple’s death, saying they were found in a pile of debris from a building that collapsed in Colonia Condesa, an upscale neighborhood known for its hip residents and posh nightlife.
“It hurts in my soul, I will always have them in my heart. My siblings and partners in crime. They went together and together they will be forever,” Pablo wrote in an Instagram post with a picture of the couple taken before their death.
At least 230 people are dead from the massive quake that rocked the sprawling city but the US Geological Survey predicts that number could rise to as many as 1,000.
