This is the moment a harbor worker burst out laughing during a cleanup operation — after she pulled a giant inflatable sex doll from the water.
The female member of Bristol Ferry staff was helping to clear out the city’s waterways. Bristol has around 500,000 residents, is about 115 miles due west of London, and is bisected by the River Avon.
They found piles of garbage including a motorbike, a reindeer onesie, pirate hats, and rubber ducks — before scooping out the sex doll.
Saff say the city’s waterways have been plagued by bachelor and bachelorette parties, forcing workers to scoop up an array of wacky outfits and props.
“Everyone cheered when we pulled it up,” said Xeena Cooper, Bristol Ferry’s volunteer coordinator.
“I’ve no idea how long it was down there for but it looked pretty pristine. We find there is generally more rubbish in the water following a weekend.”
“The main cause is not necessarily people chucking things in, but [garbage] being blown from overflowing bins nearby — because they aren’t collected enough.”
Bristol Ferry have linked up with Clean Up Bristol Harbour, who organize monthly clean-up drives,
Michael Sergison, head of marketing at Bristol Ferry, said greater efforts need to be made:
“The city center is an absolute hub for people on [bachelor and bachelorette parties],” he added.
“We have found a lot of clothes in the water by Prysm nightclub. That’s also where we happened to find the inflatable sex doll.
“The items we have found, including the YoBike, just go to show we aren’t looking after the harbour properly.”
