Muslim worker’s boss tricked him into eating pork: suit

A Muslim man claims his boss at an iconic Queens catering hall duped him into eating pork and then laughed at him.

Mohamed Salahudeen says supervisor Bruno Marques made his 10 months on the job at Terrace on The Park a nightmare by constantly making discriminatory remarks about Muslims and harassing him about his daily prayers and fasting.

Marques allegedly once told Salahudeen a company-subsidized meal was chicken, convincing the Long Island man to sit down and eat, Salahudeen claims in his Brooklyn Federal Court lawsuit.

But the meat was actually pork, which those who practice Islam are forbidden to eat.

“When Mr. Salahudeen ate the meat, Marques immediately began laughing and mocking him,” Salahudeen claimed in court papers.

When Salahudeen engaged in daily prayers, Marques allegedly told him, “don’t do that sh-t … this is Terrace on the Park, not Saudi Arabia!”

And when Salahudeen was fasting for a holiday, Marques sniped, “Allah wants you to be hungry,” and called him stupid, the worker alleged.

The company ignored Salahudeen’s complaints, and eventually fired him, he charges in court papers seeking unspecified damages.

“The alleged statements are repugnant and were never said,” Terrace on the Park Marc Wenger said in a statement. “Terrace on the Park prohibits all forms of discrimination.”
