The Jets face the Dolphins on Sunday, trying to get back over .500. Let’s take a look at some questions you have in the Jets mailbag:

Do you see a scenario where McCown ends up starting every game? Or will team be forced to use Petty/Hack for evaluation purposes?
Josh McCown starting the entire season seemed implausible when the season started, but he has played well and the team has won three games. Barring injury, I think they ride with McCown for a while. I don’t see the Jets shifting into evaluation for 2018 mode unless they have eight or nine losses and we are a long way off from that even being possible.
McCown’s hold on the starting job is one of many surprising things about this Jets season.

Do you think Wilkerson is a goner after the season?
Anthony (@anthony_traini31)
Is there anyways we can cut Wilkerson now? Guy is useless and whoever is the backup can’t be worse
Muhammad Wilkerson is not going anywhere at the moment. I do think he will be released in the offseason. His salary is not guaranteed in 2018 except for injury. The Jets can cut ties with him pretty painlessly this offseason.
Cutting him now makes no sense. They would still have to pay him. Besides, Todd Bowles likes the way he’s playing. Didn’t you hear?

What will it take for this franchise to be uncursed? Is there a Theo Epstein of football?
I think fans should be encouraged by what they have seen from general manager Mike Maccagnan thus far. This year’s draft looks like a really solid class and he has added some key veteran pieces to this roster. Is he Theo Epstein? No. But he deserves more time to see how his plan plays out.

Is there anything this defense can do to generate more QB pressures and sacks? Is it players not performing or is it more schematic?
Players need to win one-on-one battles. There are too many defensive linemen not getting off blocks. Bowles has brought the blitzes more in recent weeks, but the Jets need to be able to get some sacks with straight pressure.

Most improved player on the team from last season so far in 2017? ASJ or Lachlan Edwards for me.
I like your two choices. I would go with Austin Seferian-Jenkins because his turnaround is mid-career and has been remarkable to watch. Edwards has made a huge leap from rookie to second-year player, but that was more expected.

Will JK be returning the punts or does Marshal fill that role?
Jeremy Kerley is your punt returner. Jalin Marshall is currently not on the active roster. He is on the practice squad. Even when he was on the active roster, he was no longer returning punts.
