This iPhone bug is driving everyone insane
Many will have experienced the desire to chuck their phone against the wall when it keeps trying to autocorrect your messages to something you don’t want to say.
Now it appears that iPhone owners are being subjected to a world of typing pain thanks to a software glitch.
The problem cropped up following the 10S 11 software update and launch of the iPhone X.
Apple fans across the world are noticing that every time they type the letter “i,” their phones try to swap it for “a” followed by a “?.”
It’s not clear how many people are affected and Apple has not issued a fix, although support teams on Twitter are directing people to a set of instructions on its website.
The glitch appears to have become widespread following the launch of the new iPhone X on Friday.

The latest software update was iOS 11, which went live on Sept. 19.
You could be waiting several months, if not a year, for the next update.
But if you are struggling to type the letter “i,” follow these steps:
- Try setting up Text Replacement for the letter “i.”
- Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement.
- Tap +.
- For Phrase, type “I”. For Shortcut, type “i”.
The tech giant’s chief executive Tim Cook said the latest flagship device was a milestone for the company a decade after the first iPhone was released.
But industry insiders weren’t certain customers were ready to fork over quite so much for a new phone.
Last week Cook said the company was trying to make the gadgets as affordable as possible and that “an iPhone X costs less than one coffee per day at one of those nice coffee places.”
