Thousands want Kevin James to replace Kevin Spacey on ‘House of Cards’

The “King of Queens” would soon be coming to “House of Cards” — if television fans got their way.

A petition to replace Kevin Spacey with actor Kevin James on the hit Netflix show has popped up on Change.org and garnered more than 19,000 signatures in just a few days.

The online document has been sent to the streaming giant’s co-founder and CEO, Reed Hastings, in the wake of the Spacey sex abuse scandal.

Its creator, Robbie Pyrma, says he hopes the petition will convince both Hastings and “House of Cards” producers to turn Frank Underwood into everyone’s favorite mall cop.

“Losing a great show is hard, no matter the circumstances,” Pyrma wrote in the petition’s description.

“However with hardship come the opportunity for a great show to become one of the greatest television shows of all time,” he said. “I think Kevin James can elevate ‘House of Cards’ to a globally adored franchise like ‘Game of Thrones’ and make the entire world focus on one of the most important Netfix Original series there is.”

While James certainly doesn’t have the same awards resume as Spacey, he has amassed a massive following over the years thanks to his comedy chops and down-to-earth characters.

He was nominated for an Emmy in 1998 for his role as deliveryman Doug Heffernan on “The King of Queens” and went on to star in several movies, such as “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry” and “Paul Blart: Mall Cop.”

Over 19,000 people had signed the “House of Cards” petition as of 5 p.m. Monday — roughly 6,000 less than its goal.

“Kevin James is a national treasure. Kevin Spacey is a rapist,” wrote one signer in the comments section. “Both are named Kevin. Seems like a smart business decision to me.”

Another person added, “This would be cool. I’ve never watched house of cards but I would if it was Kevin James. So if you want to attract new viewers, you know what has to be done.”
