Airline workers and passenger in a knock-down, drag-out brawl

A shocking video showing airline staff manhandling a passenger in a runway brawl has gone viral.

The footage shows two IndiGo runway staff blocking the passenger’s attempts to board the Delhi airport shuttle bus — with one worker seen with his hands around the customer’s neck before throwing him to the ground.

Staff at India’s largest airline are seen bickering with the man as he approaches the airport shuttle bus.

Walking away in an attempt to board the shuttle bus, the flyer is followed by staff before they stand so as to block the vehicle’s doorway.

Once the doors close, the passenger is seen raising his head near the security worker’s head before being dragged away by another.

The brawl continues to escalate as the frustrated customer moves toward a worker before being thrown to the ground.

The passenger is heard screaming “How dare you” as he is pinned to the ground, with one worker’s hand wrapped around his neck.

The passenger is reported to have been taken to a police station, where the airline threatened to file a complaint against him.

The airline has since issued an apology for the incident after the footage made the rounds on social media.

In a seven-page report sent to India’s civil aviation minister, the airline tried to explain the ruckus.

IndiGo president Adiya Ghosh said: “We find this incident extremely regrettable and wish that we would have handled this differently.”

“Whatever may have been the provocation, whether verbal or physical abuse, we could have tried to display more restraint.”

The employees involved have since been suspended.
