A mother of two was stabbed to death on Gibraltar — the first murder in over two years on the tiny British territory.
Royal Gibraltar Police discovered the woman, along with a man with serious stab wounds, inside an apartment at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Gibraltar Chronicle.
Emergency workers took the woman, who has been identified as 32-year-old Carolina Elizabeth Lishman, and the unidentified man, who is in his 40s, to a nearby hospital.
A neighbor said she was a “lovely girl” who grew up in London and had two daughters, according to the Daily Mail.
“There are very few murders in Gibraltar,” the unnamed man told the Mail.
Cops are not looking for anyone in else in connection to the slashing and say there is no threat, the Chronicle reported.
“The Royal Gibraltar Police wants to reassure the public in general, and the residents of Sir William Jackson Grove in particular, that there is no danger to the public,” the RGP said in a statement.
It’s the first murder in more than two years on Gibraltar, a less-than 3-square-mile outcropping on the southern end of Spain’s Iberian Peninsula.
In March 2015, John Shannon, 37, slaughtered his wife, infant daughter and step-daughter with a knife in a paranoid fit of rage — then died after opening his own throat with the blade, Andalusian newspaper The Olive Press reported at the time.
