A needle was found inside Halloween candy, given to a 6-year-old Long Island girl, authorities said Thursday.
The North Lindenhurst girl bit into her Twix bar and felt the 2-inch-long sewing needle on Wednesday but was not injured, Suffolk County police said.
The tainted sweet was given to her while trick-or-treating last week, somewhere on North Hamilton Avenue, Spiegelhagen Street, North Greene Avenue, North Erie Avenue or North Delaware Avenue in North Lindenhurst, officials said.
Police asked parents, whose children trick-to-treated on those streets, to take a close look at their kids’ candy.
