Alleged serial killer left bloody message near victim: cops

A suspected serial killer in Florida allegedly scrawled a bloody message near one of his victims while on his killing spree, according to reports.

Police said Nathaniel Petgrave, 22, marked the murder scene in Fort Lauderdale with the number “4” and words “Stop Wait Time” in the blood of his fourth victim, according to news station WFOR. There was also a bloody handsaw and machete found next to the body.

Petgrave reportedly confessed to police to going on a violent rampage which left three homeless men dead and another critically wounded.

The 22-year-old told investigators that he wrote the number “4” beside 46-year-old victim Derick Tucker because he was his fourth victim.

Authorities said he fatally shot 65-year-old Larry Scott on Oct. 20 in Lauderhill, killed 50-year-old John Jackson the next day in Fort Lauderdale and killed Tucker on Oct. 27 in Fort Lauderdale. Another victim, whose name has not been released, was hospitalized in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the neck, WFOR reported.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that Petgrave was arrested for operating a stolen vehicle last month and confessed to the slayings when he went to retrieve his belongings.

Petgrave, who is also homeless, was charged with three counts of premeditated murder for the rampage.

The alleged serial killer remains in custody at Broward County Jail without bond, according to court records.
