At least three people were injured Friday when a speeding car deliberately slammed into a crowd outside of a school in Toulouse, southwest France.
The injured were Chinese students, including two who were seriously hurt in the incident.
The AFP news agency quoted French police as saying it was a possible vehicle attack and that the driver was not on a security watch list.
The driver, a 28-year-old man who was known to police for committing minor offenses, was arrested at the scene, polices sources said.
The crash happened in front of Saint-Exupery school in the suburb of Blagnac.
French media said the driver, a 28-year-old man, was arrested several minutes later.
Police say the man was being sought for previous minor drug offenses, and that he had spent time in a facility for treatment of mental illness.
