With the Jets prepping for this week’s matchup against the Buccaneers, let’s take a look at your questions in the Jets mailbag:

Do we make a run for Luck if Indy has given up on him?
It seems unthinkable that the Colts would give up on Andrew Luck, but there has been a lot of speculation about this with Luck missing the season. The latest was a report from Bob Kravitz in Indianapolis that Luck may not be happy with owner Jim Irsay.
If the Colts are going to part ways with Luck, the Jets should absolutely be in on him. The one question is his shoulder, but if the Jets doctors are convinced he is OK, go get him. He is 28 years old, in the middle of his prime, and is an elite quarterback. He could play for another 10 years if his shoulder is healthy.
I still can’t see Indianapolis parting ways with Luck, but if they do there will be a long line of teams wanting to acquire him. The Jets should be at the front of the line.

Are we going QB in the first two rounds and discarding of Hack & Petty?
I don’t necessarily know if the Jets will take a quarterback in the first two rounds of the draft. There are a lot of avenues they can go down for their 2018 quarterback. They may take one early in the draft or they may go after a veteran like Kirk Cousins or Alex Smith if they become available.
I don’t think that Christian Hackenberg or Bryce Petty are in the Jets’ long-term plans anymore as a starter. One could stick around possibly as a backup, but I think the Jets have seen enough from those two quarterbacks to know they are not the answer. It may seem unfair since Hackenberg has not even played in a regular-season game, but the Jets got a long look at him this summer in training camp and the preseason and he did not impress.

Is Wilkerson’s recent play changing the Jets brass mind on keeping him or is he still a goner?
There is no doubt that Muhammad Wilkerson has played better lately, but it has only been three games. Let’s see if he can maintain this. I think Wilkerson is feeling healthier and that has helped greatly. He had a shoulder sprain and a broken toe to deal with earlier this year.
As for the Jets’ decision on him in March, I am still skeptical that he will get the $16.75 million his contract calls for in 2018. If he continues to play well, I do see a scenario where the Jets talk to him about taking a paycut or doing a simple restructure to get his $20 million salary cap number down instead of just cutting him.

Who could you realistically see the jets going in Free Agency?
It’s too soon for me to figure out names. In the NFL, there are always players who become available that you did not expect. I will say that I expect the Jets to be active in free agency this year with more than $80 million in cap space. I think their top priorities should be a playmaker on offense either at receiver or running back and a pass rusher on defense. If the right players come loose, they also could address quarterback in free agency.

What does Kerley’s suspension mean for Ardarius Stewart and Chad Hansen’s playing time?
It should go up dramatically. That is the silver lining of Kerley being gone for four games for the Jets. Now, they are forced to play the rookies and give them some valuable experience. We are deep enough into the season now that these two should have a firm grasp on the offense. Let’s see what they are capable of.

Do the jets extend ASJ? I believe they should great player and better person to make the culture better
Austin Seferian-Jenkins is scheduled to become a free agent in March. I agree with you and would extend him before he gets there. He has proven to be a nice piece of the Jets offense and has really turned his life around. He loves being a Jet and living in New York/New Jersey, so I don’t think he will be looking to break the bank either.
