Jimmer Fredette, Stephon Marbury get in shoving match in China

Washed-up former Knicks fight!

While the newly excited young Knicks continue to impress early in the NBA season, two former players were busy duking it out abroad during a game in China.

Ex-Knicks and Chinese superstars Jimmer Fredette and Stephon Marbury got physical during a Chinese Basketball Association game Friday after Marbury gave Fredette some hard contact on a layup.

In the video, Fredette, a sharpshooting prospect-turned-NBA bust, goes up for a layup but receives pretty hard contact from Marbury, who wasn’t blown for a foul. After the miss, Fredette takes offense at the contact and shoves Marbury as the pair get in each other’s faces and start jawing off. Play was quickly blown dead as security guards and other former NBA washouts (including Shavlik Randolph) separated the pair and played peacemaker.

Fredette would get the upper hand in the end. He finished Friday’s contest with a 54-point triple-double effort, with 13 rebounds and 10 assists, as the Sharks muscled past the Dragons, 123-119, in overtime. It was Fredette’s second straight game with at least 50 points as he continues to be a scoring phenomenon in China.
