Plus-size model recreates Victoria’s Secret shoot
Plus-size model Tabria Majors is calling out Victoria Secret’s preference for skinny models.
Majors re-created a series of the lingerie company’s photos and posted side-by-sides to Instagram.
“Just paying homage to a few of my favorite pics/outfits from VS here and showing that curvy girls can rock (and sell) lingerie just as well as straight size models,” Majors captioned one photo.
Majors, who was recently named one of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue’s six open-casting-call finalists, has always struggled with body image growing up.
“I hated that my nose was huge. I hated how big my lips were, and I hated how I was so much bigger than every other person,” Majors said at her recent Post photo shoot.
That’s why she started her body-confidence podcast, “The Thick,” where she talks about what it’s like to be a plus-size woman of color.
“It’s just a gradual journey of self love,” she said. “You can continue to hate yourself for things or you can love yourself.”
