The Wildcat returns for his 21st season in The Post. Including the 1997-2016 Bettor’s Guide, Cat’s record in print stands sat 573-479 (54.5 percent) against the spread.
COLTS (+10) over Steelers: Dog Day Weekend, Part 1, as Steeltown bullies carry a 2 ½-game lead over the AFC North remainders clogging Pittsburgh’s rear-view mirror. Road favorites off byes are a long-term winner in this league — but you need to be aware of the exceptions to the golden rules, and the Steelers are one of them. Outside of the Patriots in December, the remaining Steelers schedule is more than manageable, as they pace themselves while awaiting January’s challenges. Pittsburgh gets the W — but not the cover — for one unit.
Monday
Dolphins (+9) over PANTHERS: Carolina recalibrating offensively without Kelvin Benjamin, Monday distractions can hinder high-priced prime-time chalk — and Jay Cutler’s crisp short-passing game has aided Miami in establishing a measure of tempo in upsets. So long as Cutler doesn’t overreach and keeps picks to a bare minimum, the Dolphins are an eternal back-door threat at such market prices. Carolina defends the run better than the pass, and the Panthers have the Jets, Saints and Vikings coming up. Dolphins frolic, for one unit.
Last week: 0-2. Buccaneers (L). Southern Miss (L).
Season: 8-11.
