A food deliveryman was attacked by two muggers — one of whom pulled out a machete and repeatedly slashed him in the head as he was dropping off Mexican grub in Brooklyn, police sources said Thursday.
The 22-year-old was delivering food from Tacos El Bronco to a home on 54th Street in Sunset Park around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The muggers approached him after he got out of his vehicle and tried to swipe the food from his hands. When he put up a fight, one of the men whipped out a machete and slashed his head. The robbers swiped $140 and the food he was delivering and took off.
He was treated at Lutheran Medical Center for four cuts to his head that required 28 staples to close. He also had cuts covering his hands.
Police are still searching for the robbers. One of the men was described as wearing a black baseball cap, blue jeans and a blue sweatshirt. The other was described as wearing a black baseball cap, black sweatshirt and a mask.
