A medical researcher dropped dead at a hospital on the Upper East Side — and wasn’t found until “several hours” later, sources said.
Officers discovered the body of Miguel Crespo, 40, inside an eighth-floor bathroom at the Weill Cornell Medical Center at East 68th Street and York Ave at around 3 p.m., according to police sources.
He appeared to have died earlier in the day, though it’s unclear how.
Cops said Crespo showed no signs of injury or trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The medical examiner is currently working to establish his cause of death and cops are still investigating.
Crespo holds a doctoral degree and a bachelor’s — which he earned at Complutense University of Madrid, according to his LinkedIn profile.
His hospital bio lists him as a “Research Associate in Surgery” at Weill Cornell. He began working in the center’s stem cell lab doing colon cancer research in 2011.
