Stephen Colbert may soon have a new favorite pizza spot.
Neapolitan Express, a pizza chain that began as an environmentally friendly food truck in 2013, is opening a 600 square foot shop at 1691 Broadway, while Hen Penny Chicken is opening a 1,250 square foot space at 1695 Broadway.
The locations are at an iconic corner next to the Ed Sullivan Theater, which is home to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Cushman & Wakefield’s managing director Brandon L. Singer and senior brokerage coordinator Michael Cody repped the tenants’ parent company, Thompson Hospitality.
“This will be an amazing location for both concepts as they plant their flag in Times Square. The visibility being located next to the Ed Sullivan Theater is second to none,” Singer said.
Michael Kadosh and Jesse Wolf of CBRE repped the landlord, Broadway Sky LLC.
Neapolitan Express launched in 2013. Investors included T. Boone Pickens’ company, Clean Energy Fuels, and the pizza truck boasted a solar roof panel that helped heat the oven to 900 degrees and fire a pizza in 90 seconds. The company now has 30 food trucks and two locations in East Harlem and the Financial District.
