Two planes clipped wings on a JFK runway Monday night, forcing both massive jetliners back to the terminal, federal authorities said.
The right wing of EgyptAir Flight 986 and left wing Virgin Atlantic Flight 4C came together slightly after 7 p.m., the FAA said.
EgyptAir’s Boeing 777 went back to Terminal 4 on its own power while Virgin’s Airbus A333 had to be towed, officials said.
No one was injured and both planes were taken out of commission.
The flights had been scheduled to leave at 6:30 p.m. for Cairo and London, respectively.
