Josh McCown’s broken left hand ends a remarkable run of good health for the Jets in 2017. One of the overlooked keys to the Jets winning five games this season has been how healthy they have been.
Their biggest injury was losing wide receiver Quincy Enunwa in the preseason. That was a huge loss for this team, but was negated a bit by the trade for Jermaine Kearse.
Outside of Enunwa’s injury, the Jets have only had a few starters miss time for injuries. Running back Matt Forte and right tackle Brandon Shell have each missed three games. Other than that, it has been a game here or there for the starters.
It is the opposite of last season when the Jets lost eight starters to injured reserve by the end of the season and used 75 players, tying an NFL record. They also had 49 different starters.
This year, the Jets have used 64 players and started just 36 different players.
