Lester Holt really wanted to be GQ’s Most Stylish Man of 2017

The holiday cheer was in full swing at NBC Universal’s communications party at 30 Rock Thursday night.

Hacks, flacks and on-air talent tossed a few back and talked shop and their upcoming Christmas plans.

But “NBC Nightly News” and “Dateline” anchor Lester Holt was a little preoccupied by something else. The dapper Holt was overheard by The Post lamenting the fact that he wasn’t chosen as GQ’s Most Stylish Man of 2017.

Polls on GQ’s Web site had closed that afternoon, and the results were in. The contest pitted Holt against Jeff Bridges, the scruffy actor best known for playing The Dude, the grungy, rumpled lead in “The Big Lebowski.”

Holt went on and on explaining that he even enlisted his friends to help bring him over the top during the week. Sadly, it wasn’t enough.

Despite his sleek three-piece tailored suits and smart round eyeglasses, the anchor got pummeled; Bridges ran away with the title, netting 62 percent of the vote. Better luck next time, Lester.
