Eleven men were slapped with drug trafficking and conspiracy charges Wednesday following the takedown of a Brooklyn narcotics ring.
The accused drug runners were pulling in around $17,000 a week hustling cocaine, heroin and fentanyl-laced heroin, Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez announced.
Alleged ringleader Jorge Valerio had his team peddle the drugs seven days a week from Sheepshead Bay and Coney Island to Staten Island, authorities said.
Valerio, 35, and his cohorts were arraigned Wednesday on a 273-count indictment. The men variously face charges of conspiracy, trafficking, criminal sale of a controlled substance, and other counts.
Officials also uncovered some $500,000 in cash — in addition to 1.5 kilos of heroin and 0.5 kilo of cocaine, prosecutors said.
“These drug dealers profit from the misery of addiction, selling dangerous drugs while destroying lives and futures,” Gonzalez said in a statement. “Thanks to the hard work of the NYPD and prosecutors from our office, we will now seek to hold them accountable for their criminal actions.”
