Aziz Ansari’s secret Tribeca apartment revealed

A Tribeca warehouse-to-condo conversion that’s been home to many A-list residents — including Taylor Swift — has gained another celebrity buyer. Comedian Aziz Ansari bought a unit at 155 Franklin St. last May, we can exclusively report.

The news has been under wraps until now because the “Master of None” actor shielded his identity by purchasing the unit from Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh through Thomas G. Carr, his accountant, and an entity called the Broome Street Trust, sources tell Gimme Shelter. He paid $5.7 million, according to city records.

Earlier this month, a 23-year-old photographer using the pseudonym “Grace” claimed in a Babe.net article that Ansari brought her to a Tribeca apartment and acted inappropriately. She allegedly commented on its “marble countertops.” (He reportedly apologized via text after the incident, saying that he had “misread things in the moment.”)

Ansari’s third-floor, 2,452-square-foot unit has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as loft-y details like large windows, exposed brick and wood-beamed ceilings.

The building, where Steven Soderbergh and Orlando Bloom once lived, is also the site of pop crooner Swift’s duplex penthouse, purchased in 2014.

Douglas Elliman broker Andrew Azoulay, who declined to comment, recently sued Swift’s representatives for $1.08 million in commission, claiming he was excluded from his cut after introducing her to the owner of an adjacent townhouse at 153 Franklin St., which she bought for $18 million in 2017 for its paparazzi-proof garage.

In addition, we can report that financier Jeremy Phillips has just sold a second-floor unit at 155 Franklin totaling 3,540 square feet for $9.75 million in an off-market deal. It’s never boring on Franklin Street.
