E-billboard backing Trump to go up in Times Square

A super PAC backing President Trump is sponsoring an e-billboard in Times Square that blasts “FAKE NEWS” and urges viewers to click on a Web link that shows a complaint it filed against Hillary Clinton’s campaign for alleged fundraising abuses.

The ad, debuting Monday, is bankrolled by the Committee to Defend the President, formerly the STOP HILLARY PAC.

The digital billboard first shows a red background with a white headline that screams, “THE FAKE NEWS . . .” Above the headline are the names of media outlets CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, NBC News and Time.

Then it changes to read, “. . .Spent more ink on President Trump’s second scoop of ice cream than the ongoing FEC investigation of Hillary’s $84M Campaign Finance money laundering scheme.” The slide shows a picture captioned, “President gets 2 scoops, everyone else 1.”

The next slide says, “Want the real story?” It then tells viewers to visit Askcdp.com and links to the complaint the pro-Trump group filed with the Federal Election Commission in December.

The complaint alleges that Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee used state party committees to circumvent campaign-donation limits and launder millions of dollars back to her campaign.

The FEC sent a response letter to the pro-Trump group confirming it is investigating the complaint.

The five-figure ad will be in rotation for a week on two sides of 1515 Broadway, one on West 44th Street, the other on West 45th
