An unhinged man went on a crazed punching spree, whacking three people on a block of Christopher Street in Greenwich Village on Saturday night, police said.
The man committed the assaults within in three minutes of each other between West 4th and Bleecker streets around 10 p.m., first hitting a 22-year-old woman in the mouth.
Two minutes later, he approached and punched his second victim, a 35-year-old man, in the nose in front of 81 Christopher before striking a 60-year-old man in the mouth in front of 74 Christopher St. He fled each time.
The female victim and the 35-year-old man were taken to Lenox Health Greenwich Village for their injuries. The 60-year-old man was treated at the scene and refused further medical attention, police said.
Police released photographs of the assailant, whom they describe as being 6-feet-tall, approximately 175 pounds tall and in his mid-20s.
