Student suspended for threats to kill immigrants

A President Trump-loving Michigan college student was suspended after a video showed him on campus in a Trump T-shirt brandishing a knife and threatening to kill undocumented immigrants.

The incident happened Tuesday at Wayne State University in Detroit, where the pro-immigrant rights group By Any Means Necessary had set up a table in a school building and passed out literature, the Detroit Free Press reported.

A student Trump supporter stalked up to the group’s table and an argument broke out, Wayne State University Police Chief Anthony Holt told the paper.

Kate Stenvig, a BAMN organizer who is not a student at the university, recorded a video of the incident that caught fire on social media, the paper reported.

“He came up, he had his Trump shirt on, and opened his jacket to show his shirt, and pulled out his knife to show us, and he was saying, ‘I think all immigrants should be deported or killed,’” Stenvig said.

“Make America great again!” and “Kill all illegals!” he later shouted.

The activists responded with their own taunts.

“Get the f–k out” shouted one male. “You want to kill somebody, go kill yourself!”

Holt said once the student was identified — though his name was not released — he was suspended.

“I don’t know if he threatened them but he violated campus policy on workplace violence. We don’t allow any weapons or any type of violence between parties,” the chief said.

University President M. Roy Wilson tweeted out a comment on the disturbing incident.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to building an inclusive campus community where intolerance — particularly when accompanied by physical threats — is not tolerated. While we encourage respectful dialogue and sometimes passionate debate about differing views and perspectives, there is no place for violence or threats of violence at Wayne State,” he wrote.
