Cops are on the hunt for a hateful vandal who scratched a swastika into the wall of an NYU building — where the anti-Semitic symbol has appeared four times in fewer than two months, law enforcement sources said Friday.
A janitor found the repulsive scrawl on a wall and a picture frame in a student lounge on the second floor of the school’s Lipton Hall at 33 Washington Square West on Thursday, the sources said.
Police are probing whether the swastika is the work of a repeat offender because the symbol has popped up at the same address on three other recent occasions.
On Jan. 3, a vandal drew a swastika on a bulletin board on the 11th floor of the building. Another swastika was scrawled on a second-floor computer desk computer Jan. 31. A third appeared on a second-floor couch on Feb. 15, law enforcement sources said.
