Ivanka Trump said she believes her father’s denials about sexual misconduct allegations by numerous women — adding that it’s inappropriate to ask her about the accusers, according to a report.
“I think it’s a pretty inappropriate question to ask a daughter, if she believes the accusers of her father, when he’s affirmatively stated that there’s no truth to it,” Ivanka, a senior White House adviser, told NBC News.
“I don’t think that’s a question you would ask many other daughters. I believe my father. I know my father. So, I think I have that right, as a daughter, to believe my father,” she continued in the interview, which aired Monday.
At least 15 women have leveled accusations against President Trump, ranging from sexual harassment and sexual assault to lewd behavior.
Of the women, 13 have said the president attacked them directly and two others said they witnessed behavior that made them feel uncomfortable.
The cascade of allegations began after the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape from 2005 in which he was heard luridly boasting about grabbing women by their genitals and forcibly kissing them.
The president has repeatedly denied the allegations, including one from Rachel Crooks, who has accused him of forcibly kissing her at Trump Tower in 2006, when he was 59 and she was 22.
“A woman I don’t know and, to the best of my knowledge, never met, is on the FRONT PAGE of the Fake News Washington Post saying I kissed her (for two minutes yet) in the lobby of Trump Tower 12 years ago. Never happened! Who would do this in a public space with live security cameras running,” he tweeted last week.
All the alleged incidents took place prior to his assuming the presidency. During the 2016 campaign, he also threatened to sue his accusers but never followed through.
