The director of the National Security Agency warned Tuesday that Russian hackers “haven’t paid a price” for their ongoing cyber intrusion into the US political system.
Adm. Michael Rogers, head of the NSA and US Cyber Command, told the Senate Armed Services Committee that Russians will continue to conduct cyber attacks and spread misinformation until they face real consequences.
Rogers acknowledged the US response so far has been inadequate.
“It hasn’t changed the calculus or the behavior on the part of Russians,” he said. “They haven’t paid a price, at least, that’s sufficient to get them to change their behavior.”
