Trump quotes pundits defending him in Russia probe

President Trump on Tuesday blasted special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation as a “WITCH HUNT” and posted a series of tweets containing comments from various pundits dismissing claims of collusion and obstruction of justice against him.

“WITCH HUNT!,” Trump declared to his more than 48 million followers on Twitter.

The exclamation came after he posted tweets of others defending his involvement in Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

“‘I’ve been skeptical about the collusion and obstruction claims for the last year. I just don’t see the evidence….in terms of the collusion, it’s all a bit implausible based on the evidence we have.’ Jonathan Turley on @FoxNews,” he wrote about the George Washington University Law School professor’s appearance on Fox.

He also used a quote from former Watergate independent counsel Ken Starr, who also appeared on Fox News over the weekend.

“‘We’ve seen NO EVIDENCE OF COLLUSION….I have seen nothing, the firing of James Comey and all of the aftermath, that suggests that the President has obstructed justice because he’s exercising his power as the President of the U.S. I just don’t see it.’ Judge Ken Starr,” Trump tweeted.

And he used Fox contributor Judge Andrew Napolitano to blame any wrongdoing during the election on Hillary Clinton.

“‘Somebody in the Justice Department has a treasure trove of evidence of Mrs. Clinton’s criminality at her own hands, or through others, that ought to be investigated. I fully agree with the President on that.’ @judgenapolitano on @marthamaccallum Show,” he said.
