Tiësto played music from his upcoming EP “I Like It Loud” while spinning at a secret party in Miami Thursday night.
The Dutch megaproducer teamed up with ride-hailing app Uber to shuttle some 300 people to an intimate performance of his newest dance-floor banger “Coming Home” at the Temple House in South Beach.
Miami Music Week “is always special,” the DJ tells The Post backstage. “All the industry of dance music comes together here — all the best DJs, producers, record labels. And, basically, it’s a showcase of what you’re going to do in the next year.”
Tiësto says he plans to debut several other tracks from “I Like It Loud” on Saturday night when he takes the Main Stage at Ultra Music Festival.
Electronic music lovers shouldn’t hold their breath for a new Tiësto album, however. “People don’t have the attention span anymore to listen to whole albums,” he says. “The album used to be a journey, and now the journey is one track to another track. People want to make their own ‘best of’ albums now.”
Instead, the 49-year-old DJ, who has been called the “godfather of electronic dance music,” prefers to focus on EPs and collaborations with other big names. In addition to “I Like It Loud,” Tiësto has a visual EP in the works along with a song with a “very famous rapper” — although he wouldn’t disclose which one. (“I can’t say his name yet. But he’s one of the coolest ones out there right now. When you hear the name, you’ll be like ‘wow.’ ”)
Fortunately, for Tiësto fans, the wait won’t be too long. He says that track will drop within the next two months.
