The Rams are not hiding their Odell Beckham desire.
“Oh yeah, that’s my guy,” star running back Todd Gurley told the Los Angeles Times on Thursday night at a Roc Nation event.
The Rams are the one team that have reportedly talked to the Giants about their interest in Beckham, after trade rumors swirled all week at the NFL owners’ meetings. Giants co-owner John Mara has made it clear that the Giants do not want to trade Beckham, but he has also said no one is “untouchable.”
There will be a steep price if the Rams or anybody else plans on acquiring the controversial receiver. ESPN reported that it would take two first-round picks to land Beckham, which is a price that any team is unlikely to pay. The Rams have the No. 23 pick in this year’s draft.
The paper asked Gurley, who was trying to steer clear of tampering, how “hypothetically” Beckham would fit into the offense.
“There’s always enough snaps,” Gurley said with a broad grin. “There’s always enough snaps. If we had him, man, it would be awesome. I’d be happy, [Jared] Goff will be happy, Coach [Sean] McVay will be happy, [owner Stan] Kroenke, the whole team would be.”
But for now, it still appears Beckham, who spends his offseasons in Los Angeles, will remain with the Giants in the final season of his rookie contract.
