Coworker wanted after woman found naked inside restaurant
Cops found a stricken naked female employee inside a Midtown eatery after hours — and are now hunting the former coworker who allegedly attacked her, police said Tuesday.
The 42-year-old woman called 911 early Monday to report that she had been attacked and robbed inside Via Italia on West 46th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues, cops said.
When police arrived at the scene around 4 a.m., they found the restaurant locked from the outside, secured with a roll gate and padlock. A 911 operator called the woman back, and she said her attacker had locked her inside, sources said.
The NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit removed the locks and found the woman bruised and lying naked on the floor inside. They later found her clothing in a basement bathroom, sources said.
She told officers that she remembered her attacker, also 42, removing her clothing, urinating on her and taking her watch and bracelet before fleeing, sources said. It wasn’t clear if he had sex with her, they said.
She identified the man as a former coworker, and investigators are looking for him, cops said.
An ambulance took the woman to Bellevue Hospital for an examination.
