Janelle Monae wears vagina pants in new music video
Janelle Monae’s new music vid dropped Tuesday, and it’s a gloriously unsubtle tribute to female anatomy.
The musician’s single “PYNK” off her upcoming album, “Dirty Computer” is “a brash celebration of creation. self love. sexuality. and p - - - y power,” the YouTube description reads.
That’s for sure. The opening imagery has Monae lined up with her background dancers, who are wearing pink pants adored with sculptural layered ombre-hued ruffles, which appear to resemble female genitalia.
“PYNK,” which features the electro-pop musician Grimes, is a Swiftian boppy video jammed with lady-bit imagery, including up-close shots of oysters. It’s also got plenty of joyful dancing and poolside revelry, as any self-respecting summer jam should.
The video also seems to confirm Monae’s long-rumored relationship with “Westworld” actress Tessa Thompson, who appears throughout the video. The video’s closing montage shows the two snuggling in a pink sunset, so take from that what you will.
