DETROIT — A 24-year-old man has been charged in connection with the shooting of a 3-year-old girl outside a Detroit gas station.
The Wayne County prosecutor’s office says Exel Taylor was expected to be arraigned Monday afternoon on three counts of assault with intent to murder and multiple weapons charges.
Police have said an argument between two men Saturday afternoon spilled outside the northwest Detroit gas station. One of the men grabbed a gun from a car and fired shots at a 28-year-old man who hid behind a vehicle in which the girl was a passenger. One of the bullets struck the girl in the head. She remains in an area hospital.
Police arrested Taylor later Saturday.
