Mamoun’s Falafel, which opened in Greenwich Village in 1971 and claims to be the city’s oldest falafel shop, is taking a page from the Five Guys burgers & fries, and The Halal Guys’ playbook.
Like both chains, it has partnered with Fransmart to expand nationally.
Mamoun’s is in the tri-state area and in Dallas, and plans to open in Philadelphia, Long Island and Fort Lee, NJ, this spring, and later this year in Staten Island, northern California and Chicago.
Food and shelter go hand and hand.
The Michelin Guide and top chefs have partnered with Breaking Ground, a New York City non-profit that works with the homeless, to host a gala to benefit the group.

The event will be held on June 25th from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Prince George Ballroom. Tickets start at $250. The charity helps transition homeless people into new homes.
