The outer walls of a three-story townhouse collapsed in Brooklyn on late Thursday, leaving fire officials worried the rest could come down at any moment.
It appeared that the entire northern and eastern walls at 217 9th St. in Park Slope fell down, leaving the building’s chimney completely exposed.
The FDNY requested an emergency Department of Buildings inspection “due to a partial building collapse,” according to agency records.
No one has been living in the building since January and it had been slated to be knocked down, fire officials said.
Firefighters working early Friday, fearing the rest of the structure might crumble soon, evacuated residents of one neighboring building.
There were no injuries.
