WASHINGTON — Lisa Page will head to Capitol Hill Friday for a closed-door grilling about her anti-Donald Trump text messages with FBI agent Peter Strzok, her ex-lover.
Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) announced he struck a deal with Page, a former FBI lawyer, after months of attempts to get her before Congress, including a subpoena.
“This decision is long overdue,” Goodlatte said.
Strzok already testified last month behind closed doors for 11 hours and faced a public grilling Thursday before the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees.
“Lisa Page is a key witness in our investigation and we need to hear from her about her role related to certain decisions made by the Department and Bureau,” Goodlatte added.
President Trump tweeted about Page during the NATO summit in Brussels and suggested Attorney General Jeff Sessions should get involved.
“I see that FBI Lover/Agent Lisa Page is dodging a Subpoena & is refusing to show up and testify. What can she possibly say about her statements and lies. So much corruption on the other side. Where is the Attorney General?”
