A mug shot of Paul Manafort, President Trump’s former campaign manager, was released Thursday after he was transferred to another holding facility, according to a report.
A federal judge ordered that Manafort, 69, be moved to the Alexandria Detention Center after prosecutors argued that he was receiving VIP treatment while being held at the Northern Neck Regional Jail about 100 miles away.
The longtime political operative is unshaven and appears to be wearing a standard-issue jumpsuit.
”Because he is a high-profile inmate, Mr. Manafort will be placed in protective custody which limits his interactions with other inmates,” Sheriff Dana Lawhorne told Talking Points Memo.
“Specific details about Mr. Manafort’s confinement will not be made public due to security and privacy concerns.”
Manafort is awaiting criminal trial on July 25.
He had been on home confinement until he was charged with witness tampering and a judge ordered him held in jail.
