The father whose 7-month old baby was found floating in the East River returned to US soil Thursday night and was taken into custody at JFK airport, sources said.
James Currie, the father Mason Saldona, was flown back from Thailand where he was apprehended after attempting to flee after dumping the body, according to law enforcement sources.
Mason was found wearing only a diaper in the waters near the South Street Seaport at about 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Officials said Currie will be charged with concealment of a corpse.
Cops believe the baby died at Currie’s Bronx apartment but it was not clear what the manner of death was.
