Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s surrogates are turning the tables on Republican challenger Marc Molinaro.
Last week, Molinaro’s campaign unveiled a WikiLeaks-style site, CuomoLeaks.com, for whistleblowers to reveal misdeeds committed by members of the governor’s administration, such as Joseph
Percoco, a former top Cuomo aide who was recently sentenced to six years in prison for corruption.
In a tit-for-tat, the Dutchess County Democratic Committee on Sunday opened a tip line, MolinarosShadyDeals.com, to expose “ongoing corruption, pay-to-play politics, and rampant cronyism in Dutchess County.”
“Marc Molinaro’s record of corrupt cronyism and pay-to-play politics as Dutchess County executive is appalling,” said Dutchess County Democratic Committee chairwoman Elisa Sumner.
In the release, the Democrats cite an Albany Times Union report showing at least a quarter of Molinaro’s campaign funding comes from county government contractors.
Cuomo’s campaign also collects donations from government contractors.
