Cops rescue freezing kitten trapped under car

It’s a meowy Christmas for one lucky kitten who survived a treacherous trip from Brooklyn to Harlem stuck under a car before being rescued by a team of NYPD officers on Tuesday.

The tiny tuxedo cat became trapped after crawling up inside a Volkswagen SUV, according to a tweet from the 32nd Precinct in Harlem.

Police said the driver was traveling along the Jackie Robinson Parkway in Brooklyn around 11:50 a.m. when he saw the cat crossing the busy highway.

He stopped to avoid running the animal over — but when he looked around, she was nowhere to be found.

The driver continued his trip to West 135th Street and 7th Avenue in Harlem — about 18 miles away — completely unaware that the terrified kitten was clinging to the undercarriage of the vehicle the entire way.

He heard the kitten’s meows when he got out of the car and immediately flagged down Officer George Mastrokostas for help.

Seven cops from the stationhouse and the department’s Special Operations Bureau sprang into action — using a car jack to capture the frozen feline from the car’s undercarriage.

The adorable furball — which sports white whiskers and a matching blaze down its nose — was sent to a private rescue group and is doing just fine.

She was given the name Chance after Sgt. Christopher Chance, one of the officers from the 32nd Precinct who helped free her.

“#NYPD rescued this #kitten trapped in the undercarriage of this vehicle. Not a good place for a #catnap, especially when we are experiencing #CodeBlue,” the precinct tweeted.

Temperatures on Tuesday dipped to a frigid 28 degrees, with wind gusts that made it feel much colder.
