If Manny Machado turns down the Yankees, perhaps Troy Tulowitzki would interest them.
The Bombers were one of at least 11 teams on hand Tuesday in Long Beach, Calif., to watch the five-time All-Star shortstop work out, The Post confirmed, after the Blue Jays ate $38 million to release him last week.
Tulowitzki has not played since July 2017 because of an ankle injury and then surgery to remove bone spurs in both heels, but reportedly looked healthy this week.
Yankees general manager Brian Cashman was asked about Tulowitzki last week at the winter meetings, but at the time said it was too early to tell if he could be a fit.
“I have no idea,” Cashman said. “He was released today and I haven’t looked into it.’’
With Machado visiting the Bronx on Wednesday, the Yankees are looking for help at shortstop while Didi Gregorius recovers from Tommy John surgery. Machado could potentially get record money, but Tulowitzki would be playing for the league minimum with the Blue Jays still paying out his salary.
The 34-year-old Tulowitzki, once considered among the top shortstops in the game, has hit .290 with an .856 OPS, while winning two Gold Gloves across 12 major league seasons.
“I think I needed to get myself right, mentally and physically,” Tulowitzki said, per Yahoo. “I took a year off to get myself right. I’m looking forward to playing the game I love.”
